Amazon may be good for creative types

A trip to any local shopping center and it is obvious the damage Amazon is doing to large retail chains. I admit this may be hard on the employees, large corporations and shopping centers but their may be a silver lining in this familiar dark cloud. I have earned my living for forty years by making and selling my art but I have always been forced to stay on the bad side of the tracks because I couldn't compete with the rental cost the chains were willing to pay. Now as I walk by several closed stores in my local shopping center I think they might be willing to talk about a reasonable rent for people who actually create the product they are selling. By filling these empty spaces with interesting creative types they can create a draw from the one area of shopping that is still thriving, adventure shopping. It will be interesting to see how these large shopping malls react.
