wintering up

We are getting use to winter again, it's been a cold one here by local standards and definitely colder than the Island was but still nothing like the winters D'arcy and I were raised in. The house has a fairly new hot water heating system and an air tight wood stove in the basement. It also came with several cords of very old firewood which I have been moving in to the basement for the last few months. I have built myself a little man-cave down there as well and I little workshop. The gallery is getting no traffic so we have changed our hours to allow us to work on the house. We have up graded all the appliances, installed a laundry room, a dishwasher, new water purifier, new stand alone shower and painted a lot of it. Now we are putting a new wall in the kitchen to accommodate the built in microwave/hood-fan. It is really nice to be able to use this slow period to improve our little world.
